ABOUT THE POSITION

Orthopaedic Associates of Muskegon (OAM) is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. This role is for a multi skilled individual responsible for performing the multiple duties associated with the check-in, insurance verifications, collection of copays and outstanding balances, and check-out. Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks appropriately. Must be detail oriented, provide high level customer service, and promote a high standard of quality with a focus on patient service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, key duties include verifying insurance, registering patients, and collecting payments. Strong customer service is essential, ensuring patients are greeted and assisted appropriately. Scheduling follow-up appointments in a timely manner and maintaining confidentiality are critical responsibilities. Exemplary professionalism and customer service are expected in all interactions, ensuring a positive experience for every patient.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma
  • Strong customer service experience in a medical setting is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must have behavioral sensitivity, maturity, diplomacy, and tact in addressing complex situations and irate patients.
  • Focused on detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
  • Must have ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, facilities, and insurance companies.
  • Must be friendly, energetic, proactive, and always putting the patient first
